Ode to Dorothy honors Dorothy Draper, who brought style, grace and pizzazz to interior design. She believed in color, contrast, detail, flowers and an invitation to sit and stay awhile. Multiple techniques were used to create this piece including machine piecing, fused fabric, raw edge appliqué, free motion machine embroidery and free motion machine quilting. Fabrics selected for the composition include commercial cottons, lamé, and flannel, which achieved a flecked wallpaper feel. |
